Nancy Bowman

Nancy A. Bowman, 91, of Capron, Illinois, formerly of Ringwood and Richmond, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, August 1, 2026. Born on July 6, 1935, in Spring Grove, Illinois, Nancy was the beloved daughter of the late Fred and Hazel (Ehlert) Bowman. She attended Ringwood and Richmond schools before graduating from McHenry High School with the Class of 1953. Nancy lived a life marked by hard work, compassion, and service to others. She pursued her passion for beauty by attending cosmetology school and later owned and operated a beauty shop in Richmond for many years. She also dedicated 28 years of her career as a pharmacy technician at McHenry Hospital, where she was known for her caring nature and commitment to helping others. A faithful member of Fellowship of Faith Church in McHenry, Nancy's faith was an important part of her life. She also enjoyed the fellowship of the Red Hat Society and was a member of the McHenry Moose, where she built many lasting friendships. Nancy had a vibrant personality and found joy in life's simple pleasures. She was a devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs, cheering them on through every season with unwavering loyalty. She also had a lifelong love for Elvis Presley, whose music never failed to bring a smile to her face. Whether listening to her favorite songs or watching the Cubs play, Nancy embraced every moment with enthusiasm and heart. Above all, Nancy treasured her family. She is lovingly survived by her son, Steven Bowman; her granddaughter, Briana Bowman; and her brother, Fred (Karrie) Bowman of Viroqua, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Hazel Bowman. Nancy will be remembered for her kind heart, warm smile, steadfast faith, and the love she shared so freely with everyone around her. Her strength, laughter, and unwavering devotion to those she loved will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. A Celebration of Life, officiated by David Gaddini, will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, visitation from 9am to 11am, Pastor reading at 11am with a luncheon to follow at Fellowship of Faith Church, 6120 Mason Hill Road, McHenry, Illinois.
