Jan M. Walczak: The Heart and Anchor of Her Family Jan M. Walczak, 69, of Antioch, a woman whose kindness knew no bounds and whose love was a constant source of strength for all who knew her, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville, IL. Born in Waukegan, IL, on May 25, 1956, Jan was the daughter of the late Joyce (Katzenberg) and Raymond C. Weber. After graduating from Richmond-Burton High School in 1974, Jan committed her career to serving and helping others. As a dedicated social worker focused on elderly care, she approached her work not as a job, but as a calling, offering empathy and gentle care to those in their most vulnerable years. Her enduring love story began when she married the love of her life, Ed Walczak, on October 14, 1978, in Richmond, IL. Together, they built a life defined by commitment and warmth. Their love shown for each other is truly inspirational that spanned over 47 years. Jan's greatest joy was her role as a mother and grandmother. She poured her spirit into creating a loving, nurturing home. She is survived by her devoted husband, Ed; her cherished daughter, Robin Walczak (Chris Everett), of Genoa City, WI; and her son, Bob Walczak, and his wife, Holly, of Genoa City, WI. The unconditional love she held for her three grandchildren, Oliver, Lilly, and Bella, lit up her every day, and her legacy of compassion with the love and laughter will live on through them. She will be deeply missed by her extensive, loving family, including her twin sister, Joan O'Halleran; sisters, Nancy (Ernesto) Mojica and Paula (George) Gartner; brothers, Steve (Sherry) Weber, Tyler (Josie) Weber, and Paul Weber; and sister-in-law, Sue Weber. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death are her sister, Shelly Walczak; her brothers, Ward and Dale Weber; and her brothers-in-law, David O'Halleran and John Walczak. Jan was the anchor of her family—a gentle soul who always put the needs of others before her own. Her memory will forever be a blessing and a reminder to lead with an open heart. Services for Jan will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday November 21, 2025 at Ehorn-Adams Funeral Home in Richmond, IL. Inurnment will be in Richmond Cemetery in Richmond.
