Ardis E. Meusling

Ardis E. Meusling, 86, of Hebron, IL, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2012 while in the company of her loving husband, children and grandchildren at her residence. Ardis was born in Elkhorn, WI on February 2, 1926, a daughter of the late George and Marie (Steffen) Harlow. After the death of her mother on Dec. 16, 1934, Ardis went to live with her grandparents, Wilhelm and Amelia Wrase Steffen, who raised her to be a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a graduate of Hebron High School in 1943. She was married to Leslie Meusling on June 21,1947, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hebron. She was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hebron, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She was a member and Past President of American Legion Auxiliary Post #606 in Hebron Ardis is survived by her husband of 65 years,Leslie; four daughters, Linda (Don) Day, of Belvidere, IL; Mary Lee (Mike) McCauley, of Harvard, IL; Judy (Steve) Coulman, of Harvard, IL; Lee Anne (Ken) Schaid, of Hebron, daughter-in-law Shelly Meusling of Hebron; 12 grandchildren David Zimmerman, Sara (Jim) Mark, Christopher Meusling, Cyndie Meusling, Faith Meusling, Bryan McCauley, Grace McCauley, Susan (John) Kastning, Beth Coulman, Lisa Rogers, Daniel Schaid and Eric Schaid; three step grandchildren Jessica (Mark) Hunley, Greg (Colleen) Geils and Kelly (Alex) Sabo, 11 great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren; two half sisters, Phyllis Harlow and Linda Lorenzana and a half brother, Russell (Leslie) Harlow. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and spending time with family. She was preceded by a beloved son Robert L. Meusling March 21, 2011, a half brother Fred Harlow, her parents and grandparents Wilhelm and Amelia (Wrase) Steffen and Fred and Mary (Warren) Harlow. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Ehorn-Adams Funeral Home 9625 Main St. Hebron. Funeral service will be at 11 am Monday Aug. 13, 2012 St. John's Lutheran Church, 9812 St. Albans St. Hebron with Rev. Sarah Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Linn-Hebron Cemetery in Hebron.
