Richmond, IL Marjorie L. Stevens Marjorie L. Stevens, 85, of Richmond, IL, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016, while in the company of family members, at her home. She was born in Libertyville, IL on October 15, 1930, a daughter of the late Irving and Georgia (Vasey) Townsend. She was married to J. Robert Stevens Sr. on March 5, 1949, in Richmond, IL and he passed away May 28, 2009. She was a graduate of Richmond-Burton High School in 1948. She was the first woman bus driver for Richmond-Burton Schools and did so for 33 years, retiring in 1995. She was a charter member of the Richmond Trailblazers, a Cub Scout den mother, received the Richmond Rotary 'Person of the Year' award in 1999, served as dispatcher for the Richmond Fire Department. She was an avid supporter of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren extra-curricular activites. She drove countless "kids" on her bus routes and their "kids" also. She always referred to them as "one of her kids". Marge is survived by three daughters, Lois (Harvey) Petska, of Spring Grove, IL; Pam (Dave Palcek) Kopacz, of Libertyville, IL; Anna (Jim Ross) Penza, of Daytona Beach, FL; four sons Bill (LaVerne) Stevens, of Poolesville, MD; Ray (Peg) Stevens, of Spring Grove, IL; Bob (Joy) Stevens Jr, of Spring Grove, IL; Larry (Marlene) Stevens, of Twin Lakes, WI; 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; five sisters, Rosella (the late Robert) Edinger, Joan Miller, Luella (Ken) Bishop, Betty (Dave) Gregory, Charlotte (Steve) Schaid; three brothers, Irving (Beverly) Townsend, Wendell Townsend, Donald (Edie) Townsend; two brothers-in-law Richard Nelson and Harry Brough. She was preceded by a daughter Judy Stevens, granddaughter Melissa Petska, great grandson Braden Petska, two sisters Shirley Nelson and Georgia Brough and a brother Richard Townsend. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday April 29, 2016 at Ehorn-Adams Funeral Home 10011 Main St, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday April 30, 2016 at Ehorn-Adams Funeral Home, Richmond, IL. Interment will be in Richmond Cemetery in Richmond, IL.
