Garland R. Price Sr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Garland R. Price, Sr., 88, of Hebron died Monday, August 29, 2011 at Mercy Harvard Care Center in Harvard. Garland was born in Bristol, WI on January 27, 1923, the son of the late Robert and Ruth (Garland) Price. He was a graduate of Hebron High School in 1940, attended the University of Dubuque, the University of Illinois, was drafted into the US Army in 1942 and attended the University of Maryland while in service. He was a member of Hebron American Legion Post # 606 in Hebron. He was married to June Schoij on November 22, 1947 in Hebron and she died January 13, 1991. He was a self-employed farmer in the Hebron area for over 35 years, retiring in 1982. He was a former member of Pure Milk Association, McHenry County Farm Bureau and Genoa City CO-OP. He was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church Hebron and a former member of the Methodist Men's Club. Garland is survived by a son, Garland "Peter" (Becky) Price Jr. of Hebron; a grandson Michael Price and his family, including a great granddaughter Josie Price, all of Rockton; four nieces and four nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Donald Price, two sisters Ellen Price and Lorraine Sherry and a nephew Gary Price. A celebration of his life will be from 3 to 6 pm Sunday September 04, 2011 at 332 Fellows Rd (formerly American Legin/Barry's Bar) in Genoa City, Wi. Private family inurnment will be in Linn-Hebron Cemetery in Hebron.
