Virgene Zarnstorff

Virgene Zarnstorff, age 93, of Richmond, IL, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018 while in the company of family members, at her residence. She was born in Richmond, IL on July 13, 1924, a daughter of the late Otto and Mae (Pederson) Buchert. She was a graduate of Richmond High School in 1942. She married Frank Zarnstorff on August 1, 1942, in Wilmot, Wi and he passed away Oct. 24, 2006. She was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wilmot, WI and involved with the Ladies Aid for years. A lifelong resident of Richmond, she and her husband operated the family farm for over 50 years, with Dennis operating it for more than 20, making it the sixth generation on the family farm. She also enjoyed her businesses, egg sales at the farm and the many friends made, and in earlier years Hunter's Boutique, a gift shop located at Hunter Country Club in Richmond. She was a member and past president of Richmond Garden Club for many years and member of McHenry County Farm Bureau and Pure Milk Assoc. Virgene is survived by a daughter, Marjorie (Doug) Stermer, of Richmond, IL; a son, Dennis (Lorraine) Zarnstorff, of Richmond, IL; five grandchildren, David (Stefanie) Otto, Tom (Jennifer) Otto, Timothy Zarnstorff (Peggy), Stacey (Jon) Green, Matthew (Jamie) Zarnstorff; fondly remembered by eleven great grandchildren Taylor, Payton, Jayden, Jackson, Lauren, Macey, Katlyn, and Jordan Otto, Ryan, Zachery and Jamison Zarnstorff; seven nephews DeWayne and Harry Buchert Jr, Gordon Pacey, Doug Schaal, Ken, Jack and Jeff Zarnstorff and three nieces Rose Pacey Kuhlmeir, Pam Pacey Conkey and Kathy Zarnstorff Miller and a sister, Mary Lou Pacey. She was preceded by two sisters Beulah and Helen Buchert and two brothers Harry and Robert Buchert. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday May 11, 2018 at Ehorn-Adams Funeral Home 10011 Main St, Richmond. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday May 12, 2018 at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church 306th Av & Hyway C, Wilmot, WI, with Rev. James Fischer officiating.
