Diana Wells

Diana M. Wells, 65, of Genoa CIty, WI, passed away suddenly Saturday, September 18, 2021 at LeConte Medical Center, in Sevierville, TN. She was born in Elgin, IL on March 10, 1956, a daughter of the late William and Jean (Stock) Mack. A graduate of Cary-Grove High School, she obtained her bachelors degree at Roosevelt University and was employed as an accountant at Kraft Foods and Players Bench for over 16 years. She was married to Robert Wells on October 13, 1990, in Richmond, IL. Her son Mathew was her pride and joy. She worked tirelessly to advocate for him and the special needs community. Her interests were her family, gardening, crafting, knitting, crocheting, reading and traveling. Diana loved to serve and make people happy. Over the years she spent many weeks at Christian Disciple Farm Camp with Matt. She loved being part of the Special Olympics community where she coached Dream Team Baseball and assisted coaching in soccer. Layton Cheerleading team was another great experience they enjoyed together. To be honest, anything Matt-related was the center of her devotion. She had a noticeably strong voice whether singing, championing a cause or cheering on the team. Diana's family meant the world to her. She loved watching her nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews grow over the years. She was just as happy serving in a kitchen as she was cutting down a forest or reshingling a roof. Her wood-splitting, demolition and electrical apprentice skills were epic. She was a lifetime member of the Walworth County Fair. She selflessly donated her time, love and blood, and gave the best hugs around. She also was proud to carry on the great family tradition of chauffer extraordinare and was very upset if you didn't let her drive you to the airport! Diana loved deeply and will be sorely missed on this side of heaven. We are thankful she knew Jesus and look forward to seeing her again. Diana is survived by her husband Robert, a son Mathew, a sister, Kathy (Joe) Huemann, of Johnsburg, IL; three brothers Jim (late Linda) Mack, of Bandon, OR; Bill (Kim) Mack, of Valrico, FL; Joe (Kym) Mack, of Lake Geneva, WI; eight nieces, four nephews, nine great nieces and three great nephews. She was preceded by her parents. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday September 27th, 2021 at Ehorn-Adams Funeral Home 10011 Main St., Richmond, IL. Mass of Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday September 28, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 10519 Main St., Richmond, IL, with Msgr. Martin Heinz as celebrant.
